ABOUT THE ROLE:

Whilst working as part of the Packing team, the Blueprint Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the blueprints, ensuring the correct setup and running of the blueprints, checkweighers, taper units, and inkjet coders. Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Operating the blueprints and shaker units, ensuring the units are running efficiently.
  • Adjusting the size of the case shaker as appropriate and initiating reel and blade changes and clearing any blockages.
  • Controlling and maintaining the efficient running of the checkweighers, flap detectors, and inkjet coders.
  • Ensuring the correct date code is on the cases and that it is correctly positioned and legible.
  • Completing all associated paperwork and ensuring that Company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Reporting all damage; signs of wear and tear and decoder issues to the Packing Senior Operative/Front Line Manager, QA or Engineering Department.
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement activities and following a 'clean as you go' policy including clearing the weight reject bin.
  • Assisting with the training of new operators as and when necessary.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of operating machinery in a food manufacturing environment, who can use their own initiative and has excellent attention to detail.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?

The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK?

You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
