Join our Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Finance Team as a key business partner to the Agriculture Leadership Team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of how McCain makes smart, data-informed decisions across our agriculture operations. You'll lead and develop our agriculture analysts, helping them grow while shaping how we budget, forecast, and report on agriculture finance.
You'll be the trusted voice in the room, providing sharp financial insight and business intelligence that helps us spot opportunities, quantify risk, and stay ahead of it. Working hand-in-hand with our McCain growers, you'll bring rigorous financial challenge and analysis to the table, helping drive real efficiency across the agriculture business. What you'll be doing:
- Trusted Business Partner - Act as a key advisor to the Agriculture Directors and Finance Agriculture Director, bringing financial insight to the heart of agricultural decision-making.
- People Leadership - Manage and develop an ISC Analyst, helping them grow their skills and career.
- Driving Efficiency - Elevate agriculture finance analysis and reporting by standardising and automating processes, freeing up more time for high-value, strategic work.
- Price Performance Insight - Deliver clear, compelling analysis of potato price variances against budgets and quarterly forecasts, presenting conclusions and action plans within the monthly financial report to keep performance on track.
- Risk & Opportunity Management - Take ownership of a weekly review of agriculture risks and opportunities, recommending practical actions to mitigate exposure.
- Cost & Forecasting Ownership - Lead the annual potato standard cost of goods process and quarterly global forecast submissions.
- Capital Investment Expertise - Bring agricultural finance expertise to the validation, assessment, and post-investment evaluation of capital projects.
- NPD Financial Rigor - Challenge and validate potato cost requirements within New Product Development P&L proposals, ensuring robust financial foundations.
- Cross-Functional Innovation - Partner closely with the Seed department to reinvent and modernise reporting processes, alongside ad-hoc project work as opportunities arise.
What you'll need to be successful:
- A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Solid industry experience, with a track record of analysing and reporting on financial performance.
- A strong grasp of financial controls, with experience implementing and improving them.
- Confidence working across Microsoft Office, with the analytical rigour to match.
- A natural ability to build relationships with internal customers and stakeholders at all levels.
- Sharp analytical skills - you can interpret financial results and turn numbers into clear, actionable insight.
- A problem-solving mindset, comfortable navigating complexity and finding practical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to influence and negotiate confidently across the business.
