At McCain, we're feeding the world: from French fries to smiles, we contribute to the important role food plays in people's lives. That's why we're dedicated to ensuring our core values - Family, Authentic, Trusted, and Quality - shine through every day. As a privately owned family company with over 60 years of experience, a presence in more than 160 countries, and a global team of 22,000 people, our values and culture are at the heart of everything we do.

We're looking for a commercially sharp, insight-led National Account Executive to join our high-performing team. This is not your average sales support role - we're seeking someone who's just as comfortable diving into category insights and promotional effectiveness as they are managing customer relationships and executing plans. This role is the perfect springboard for someone looking to build a career in account management, category development, or commercial strategy within FMCG.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support National Account Managers in the day-to-day management of key retail accounts.
  • Own elements of customer account admin: promotional planning, pricing, forecasting, and tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with category and insights teams to develop compelling, customer-specific stories and presentations.
  • Evaluate the performance of promotional activity and work with the wider commercial team to optimise future plans.
  • Translate consumer and shopper data into actionable recommendations for both internal stakeholders and retail partners.
  • Prepare and present key business updates, sales performance reports, and category reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across sales, marketing, supply chain, and category teams.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • 1-3 years' experience in FMCG, preferably in a commercial, sales support, or category role.
  • Experience of the GB retail market.
  • Strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in what drives consumer behaviour and category performance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills - confident working with data and turning it into a story.
  • Organised, proactive, and eager to learn - you'll thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Degree educated or equivalent experience.

Benefits of the role:

  • An excellent pension where we will pay double what you do, up to a maximum of 12% of your pay.
  • Flexible holidays - where you can buy & sell up to 5 days holiday per year.
  • Optional health cash plan.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • 'Chips In' Volunteering Day Off - to make a positive impact to the competitiveness, resilience, and long-term development of McCain communities across the globe.
  • Opportunities to shine/thrive should you wish to relocate in the future.

The Retail Sales team at McCain is made up of three closely connected functions - Sales, Category, and Demand. Each customer and channel benefits from dedicated support across all three functions, with daily collaboration to share insight and drive results.

Being in the office every single day is a thing of the past. Here at McCain, we champion hybrid working. This means we don't have a set expectation of exactly when you need to be in the office - however we do encourage our full-time, office-based people to connect in person with others for around half of their working time.

At McCain, our leadership principles guide how we engage with customers, collaborate as a team, and achieve success. We focus on understanding customer needs, driving innovation, empowering people, and taking ownership to clear obstacles and deliver results.

McCain Foods is an equal opportunity employer. As a global family-owned company, we strive to be the employer of choice in the diverse communities around the world in which we live and work.
