ABOUT THE ROLE:
Whilst working as part of an integrated team within the Receiving/Intake department, the Receiving Operative is to ensure potato intake operates effectively and that a continuous supply of potatoes meets planned schedule to quality requirements. The Receiving Operative is also responsible for the Jacket line grading when this is running and overseeing the Flake line, ensuring it is set correctly and cleaning standards are adhered to.
Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Yard management including receiving loads, carrying out checks, driver management and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Manoeuvring empty and full Dolavs
- Loading and unloading trailers
- Ensuring the grading material meets specifications
- Operation of blending requirements
- Routine sampling of raw material, checking potato passport, recording of data and liaising with production and Senior Operative on specification achievements.
- Actioning and maintaining rejection data
- Completion of area MDI board
- Responsible for Operator Asset Care of all technical equipment within receiving and calibration of equipment
- Operations of wet and dry bins to ensure equipment operates efficiently
- Maintain standard of cleanliness and organisation within receiving areas.
- Ensure that the area is maintained to 5s, Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards at all times
- Maintain and be actively involved in all continuous improvement activities including CID routes through MDI, Kaizen's, RCA & (A3's)

The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working in a food manufacturing environment, in particular in a Receiving/Intake/Goods In role. A current, valid forklift license and hand barrow training is essential.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?
The shift pattern is 2 days 7am-7pm, 1 day off, 2 nights 7pm-7am followed by 3 days off.
WHERE YOU'LL WORK?
You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you've spotted our three wind turbines, then you'll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we're one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
