You won't just find us in supermarkets though. As well as owning a household retail brand, our respected foodservice business works in close partnership with distributors, chefs and caterers across thousands of the country's pubs, restaurants, hospitals, and schools.

We are passionate about potatoes. But we're even more passionate about our People! Come and ENGINEER your career at McCain Foods.

ABOUT THE JOB.

Our Reliability Supervisors drive reliability improvement programs across our plants. They use accurate data analysis (from Power Bi and SAP) to work closely with our plant teams to ensure we reduce any food safety or maintenance related incidents - as they say, prevention is better than the cure!

You'll drive onsite maintenance improvement to reduce engineering related downtime, increase the reliability of our assets and ensure optimal maintenance lifecycle cost. You will also conduct root cause analysis, ensuring agreed corrective actions are implemented across the plant.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Identification of the current pain points and developing improvement strategies.
  • Improve uptime and lower maintenance cost by maintaining assets optimally in the maintenance life cycle.
  • Work closely with the Shift Operations team to ensure plant issues are identified, understood and appropriate actions are planned, prioritised and executed in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the manufacturing plant, processes and priorities, key bottlenecks and opportunity areas to aid the prioritisation of work.
  • Leverage the skills of the total site team, making effective use of support functions and accessing expertise in other shift teams in order to generate total site solutions to issues.
  • Use communication to engage and motivate your team.
  • Coach and engage maintenance employees to ensure they perform to an acceptable standard, operate in accordance with site systems and policies and have a reliability focus to work activities.
  • Work closely with key OEM's, contractors and specialists to drive improvements and ensure services meet site requirements.
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the planned maintenance programme for site assets based on agreed targets and KPI's.

You will require an in-depth understanding of modern maintenance tools and techniques as well as the ability to collect and analyse data.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR.

We're looking for an engineering supervisor with experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems who has team leadership experience and a proven coaching and mentoring management style.

As well as a love of chips, our ideal candidate will also have:

  • The following relevant engineering qualifications (or equivalent): HNC or equivalent in appropriate mechanical/electrical discipline - Essential
  • IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSH General Certificate - Essential
  • Knowledge of CMMS review and improvement - Essential
  • HACCP - Desirable
  • Advanced Food Hygiene - Desirable
  • Knowledge of energy and carbon reduction technology - Desirable

WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME?

Although we do encourage you to taste the goods you'll be pleased to know we don't pay you in chips. For working hard, you'll also get a great salary and some pretty good benefits including:

  • An excellent pension where we will pay double what you do, up to a maximum of 12% of your pay
  • Flexible holidays - where you can buy & sell up to 5 days holiday per year
  • Optional health cash plan
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • 'Chips In' Volunteering Day Off - to make a positive impact to the competitiveness, resilience, and long-term development of McCain communities across the globe

And of course, being part of a Global business there are great opportunities to shine/thrive should you wish to relocate in the future. We have an ambitious 5 year growth plan that presents development & progression opportunities for those who seek it out.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK?

The role is primarily Monday to Friday dayshift, 40 hours per week.

WHERE WILL I WORK?

You'll be based at our Wombourne plant in Staffordshire. And together our small, but perfectly formed team of over 110 colleagues produce our famous (and well loved) potato Smiles as well as our pre-baked Jacket Spuds.
