Leading investment management firm is seeking a Lead Technical/Solutions Architect with an investment banking or asset management background, aligning technology with business capabilities to enable effective strategy execution and business transformation.
Our client is willing to consider candidates who are currently Senior Software Engineering Managers looking to step across into a senior Architecture role possibly for the first time. That said, all applicants must bring good knowledge of architecture principles, patterns, best practices and professional experience with at least one major OO language (C#, C++, Java).
Role Summary
This is a pivotal role for the newly established function, initially responsible for providing architectural and technical oversight of foundational architecture components, which will form the basis for our standardization, modernization and simplification initiatives over the coming years. This will involve building a strong relationship with delivery teams, working alongside them to ensure solid, fit for purpose technology, pattern and strategy selection – whilst ensuring the vision is aligned to the overall Enterprise Architecture stated goals.
You will gain the opportunity to expand your remit, this could be by widening your architectural remit and/or developing our Platform as a Product offering into a shared architectural components/shared services model, supporting and enabling our application development teams to increase cadence and common pattern usage.
From day one, you will be expected to continually champion architectural and engineering excellence, highlighting both areas of strength and areas to be targeted for improvement – alongside acting as one of the enablers of tech innovation within the firm.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong, technical background – alongside a strong ‘right tool for the job’, research-based mindset and relationship-based influencing skills.
