A leading InsureTech organisation is looking to hire a Financial Risk Manager on a permanent basis. The role offers a salary of up to Β£110,000 plus bonus and an excellent benefits package, alongside very flexible hybrid working.
This is a key second-line role focused on oversight and challenge across pricing, underwriting, reserving and broader insurance risk activities. The business is looking for someone commercially minded who can work closely with senior stakeholders and help drive a more proactive approach to risk management across the organisation.
The role will suit someone with strong General Insurance experience across pricing, actuarial, modelling or insurance risk, ideally combined with previous second line or Risk Management exposure.
To be considered for the role, you will need:
- Strong General Insurance experience across pricing, actuarial, modelling or insurance risk
- Previous second line oversight or Risk Management experience
- Experience reviewing and challenging models, assumptions and methodologies
- Strong understanding of FCA, PRA, Solvency UK and Consumer Duty expectations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and manage upwards
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing second line oversight and challenge across pricing, underwriting and broader insurance risk activities
- Reviewing models, portfolio performance and risk exposure to ensure risks remain within appetite
- Partnering closely with underwriting, pricing, actuarial and finance teams to provide commercial risk insight and challenge
- Supporting governance, regulatory oversight and senior stakeholder reporting
- Providing second-line input into new products, pricing model changes and underwriting decisions
