Location: Clydebank Glasgow – Hours: Full time, 36.5 hours per week, Site based

Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Officer or HR Advisor looking to step into an HR Business Partner role. You will support the delivery of people plans aligned to business objectives, working closely with managers to provide pragmatic, commercially aware HR support. The role combines operational HR delivery with the development of business partnering capability, offering exposure to stakeholder engagement, organisational change, and people strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering & Stakeholder Support
    • Build effective working relationships with line managers across your business area
    • Provide coaching and guidance on people-related matters including performance, absence, and employee relations
    • Support managers in implementing HR initiatives aligned to business goals
    • Begin to influence decision‑making through insight and HR expertise
    • Represent HR at town halls, employee forums, and internal communications
  • Employee Relations & Operational HR
    • Manage a range of employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance)
    • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and employment legislation
    • Support complex ER cases with guidance from senior HR colleagues
    • Manage the full recruitment process: drafting job ads, arranging interviews, and onboarding new starters
  • People Development & Performance
    • Support the delivery of performance management processes
    • Work with managers to identify development needs and support talent progression
    • Contribute to succession planning and workforce planning activities
    • Coordinate training activities and track learning outcomes
  • Change & Projects
    • Support organisational change initiatives such as restructures or team realignments
    • Contribute to HR projects (e.g. engagement, wellbeing, DEI, process improvement)
    • Assist in implementing new HR policies and practices
  • HR Data & Insight
    • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of in‑house data, ensuring compliance with GDPR and privacy policies
    • Use HR data to identify trends and inform discussions with managers
    • Support reporting on key metrics such as absence, turnover, and engagement

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in an HR Officer or HR Advisor role
  • Strong employee relations knowledge and practical case management experience
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Good understanding of UK employment law
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards)
  • Exposure to supporting multiple sites or business areas with the flexibility to occasionally travel to support operations in Daventry and Cardiff
