Transport Planner McBurney Transport wish to appoint a nightshift Transport Planner based in their Ballymena Office. The successful candidate will be required along with other colleagues to run the local nightshift operation in Northern Ireland assigning and directing drivers in a timely manner to meet customer needs. UK experience is also required for tracking deliveries & collections overnight reacting to any issues that arise reacting to resolve so to maintain . Liaising with McBurney drivers, sub-contractors, and customers to ensure a high level of customer service is always maintained. The candidate should have A sound knowledge of drivers hours regulations GV262, Have a competent geographical knowledge of UK and Ireland as well as the general understanding of the operations of a road haulage company. A level 3 certificate of professional competence is a distinct advantage however it is not essential. Other desirable criteria/experiences include 2 years minimum experience in the transport industry planning and running over 50 drivers. Experience with fresh, frozen and ambient goods movements as well as just in time deliveries Good understanding of drivers hours and general compliance within the transport industry Significant experience using telematic and transport software systems Able to manage own time to achieve daily targets in turn meeting customer requirements daily. Ability to work under ever changing circumstances on a nightly basis including making decisions under pressure Customer focused with high level of attention to detail Ability to communicate at all levels within the business. Internally between day and nightshift, clear instruction to drivers and directly with customers. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft excel and outlook Understanding of customs processes would be beneficial. Shift pattern is to be finalised & discussed at interview. Ideally rotation Mon β Friday one week and Tuesday to Saturday the next. Start times vary between 1900 & 2100 finishing between 0500 & 0700. Salary expectations to be discussed on interview and will be dependant on experience.
