Key Activities:
- To ensure that a high level of cleanliness is maintained throughout the site on a daily basis.
- To undertake a range of cleaning activities on a daily/weekly/monthly basis in line with the cleaning schedule and to the set standards.
- To maintain high standards of hygiene in canteen, rest areas, toilet facilities, locker rooms and office areas.
- To ensure standards and procedures are adhered to.
- To use cleaning materials appropriately, as instructed and economically; to inform Line Manager when stocks are low.
- To ensure that tools and equipment are in good working order, reporting any faults to Line Manager.
- Empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated area, including the separation of waste, i.e. recycling.
- To clean internal glass and internal and external door glass.
- Where practicable ensure windows and doors are closed and lights switched off.
- Maintaining clean and obstruction free floor areas.
- Ensuring walkways and emergency fire exits are clear and unobstructed.
- To identify, report and assist with any areas in need of ‘deep cleaning’ operations.
- To ensure only approved cleaning materials are used and in accordance with manufacturers printed instructions and COSHH regulations. Chemicals should never be mixed with other chemicals.
- To be aware of their responsibilities for Health & Safety of themselves and others.
Key Result Areas:
- Housekeeping standards to be in line with visual standards photographs, 5S audits and generally to meet GMP Audit standards.
Behavioural Competencies / Personal Characteristics:
- Must be a self-starter and able to work on own initiative. Flexibility and a willingness to assist with other duties is a must when the need arises.
- Committed to achieving high standards of cleanliness and hygiene and the ability to manage time effectively are also important.
Technical Competencies & Qualifications:
- Previous experience of cleaning, including the use of chemicals and using cleaning machinery safely.
