McBride Sport is working with a leading international sports agency operating across global golf to appoint an experienced Event Operations Director. This is a leadership opportunity for an accomplished event operations professional to oversee and deliver a growing global portfolio of elite golf events across multiple international markets. Reporting into senior leadership, the Event Operations Director will take ownership of end-to-end operational delivery, leading teams across regions and ensuring world-class standards across planning, production, logistics, safety and on-site execution. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery and requires a leader comfortable operating in complex, high-pressure international event environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for strategy, planning & governance
- Develop, implement, and continually refine operational plans and SOPs across multiple events
- Lead resource planning across regional event portfolios
- Own and manage event delivery budgets
- Ensure best practice across health & safety, risk management, legal and insurance frameworks
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to drive quality and cost efficiency
- Stay at the forefront of innovation in event operations
- Ensuring seamless operational delivery
- Lead the operational delivery of allocated international events
- Oversee all core operational documentation including CAD plans, schedules, logistics plans and budgets
- Act as a subject matter expert across site & infrastructure, production, safety, branding and support services
- Ensure the highest safety and security standards are maintained on-site
- Drive consistently high operational standards across all events
- Management and collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing event operations team
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-accountability team culture
- Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment across departments
- Provide clear, timely reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Monitoring performance and management reporting
- Use project management tools to track delivery and performance
- Produce concise reporting including budgets, resourcing, and post-event reviews
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks
We are looking to engage with events executives with proven senior experience delivering major international sports events, ideally within golf. This will ideally be with a strong understanding of the golf ecosystem and its stakeholders. You will demonstrate leadership of multi-event, multi-market portfolios, be an excellent communicator, confident engaging stakeholders at all levels and commercially astute with strong budget management experience. Innovative, adaptable, and solutions-focused you will be comfortable working internationally and across cultures.
