Key Purpose:
Working closely with the PD engineers to carry out practical laboratory work in order to develop formulations in line with the given brief, this includes making samples, performance testing, stability and delivery of assigned COP projects in line with agreed dates. Reporting progression of development projects to the PD Engineers and where appropriate internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety: Working within the defined Health and Safety standards. Using laboratory knowledge to proactively suggest areas for improvement.
- Technology: Sample preparation in order to deliver new formulations as such that the customer demands are met, internally and externally. Stability testing of new formulations and alternative raw materials, ensuring the defined protocol is followed and findings reported. Preparation of customer samples according to defined processes and required labelling. Carrying out laboratory work required for benchmarking as agreed with the formulation engineer. Preparation of samples for the appropriate external testing for all formulation developments. Collaboration with the PD engineers to develop new test methodology to support the development process.
- COP / Cost Leadership: Working with the PD engineer to carry out the practical laboratory work to deliver the agreed COP program and report progress to responsible PD engineer on progress.
- Offer briefing and tenders: Providing timely and accurate samples in response to customer tenders and sample requests.
- Communication and Technical Support: Providing formulation details to the PD engineer in order to provide PD technical data. Reporting the progress of all projects and activities to the PD Engineers. Working with the PD Engineers to deliver the correct level of technical support to the Business and to customers in order to develop customer relationships.
