Company Description
McArthurGlen Group, Europe’s leading owner, developer and manager of designer outlets, was founded in Europe in 1993 and currently manages 20+ designer outlets in 8 countries.
Job Description
Behind every great retail experience is a centre that runs seamlessly. As our Facilities Manager at West Midlands Designer Outlet, you’ll make that happen, keeping our environment safe, welcoming and maintained to the highest standards.
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you’ll combine hands-on operational problem-solving with longer-term planning, working closely with our brand partners, contractors and centre team. From maintenance and improvement projects to sustainability initiatives, your work will make a visible difference every day.
What you’ll do
- Keep the centre running smoothly: oversee maintenance, cleaning, security and landscaping, ensuring contractors deliver against agreed standards, KPIs and SLAs.
- Champion safety: proactively manage risks, support emergency preparedness and maintain compliance with relevant health, safety, fire and building regulations.
- Protect and improve our assets: manage facilities budgets, recommend investment projects and deliver improvements with a focus on quality and cost control.
- Support our brand partners: coordinate maintenance, store openings, closures, fit-outs and refurbishments to ensure smooth transitions.
- Drive sustainable improvements: manage utilities and introduce practical initiatives that improve environmental and operational performance.
- Play your part in centre operations: complete Duty Management training and participate in duty responsibilities as required
Qualifications
- Proven facilities or property services management experience in a customer-facing environment, ideally within retail or hospitality.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications, such as IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent, alongside sound legislative knowledge.
- Experience managing contractors, budgets and projects, with the ability to balance service quality and commercial priorities.
- Knowledge of risk, security and environmental or sustainability practices.
- A proactive, practical approach—you prioritise effectively, resolve issues and follow through.
- Strong relationship-building skills, clear communication and confidence using Microsoft Office or equivalent business tools.
Make the extraordinary possible
This is an opportunity to take ownership of the facilities that underpin our guest experience, build strong partnerships and turn improvement ideas into tangible results.
At McArthurGlen, we celebrate difference and are committed to a culture where everyone can be themselves, contribute and belong.
