We are looking for a Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team and play an important role in supporting the safe, accurate and efficient supply of medicines to patients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Dispenser who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail and enjoys working as part of a professional healthcare team.

The Role

As a Pharmacy Dispenser, you will work closely with the Pharmacist and wider pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions and medicines are prepared and supplied accurately and efficiently.

You will be responsible for dispensing prescriptions, preparing medication, supporting stock management, maintaining accurate records and providing a professional service to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions under the supervision of the Pharmacist.
  • Receive, process and prepare NHS and private prescriptions where required.
  • Select, assemble and label medicines accurately.
  • Ensure prescriptions are prepared in line with pharmacy procedures and legal requirements.
  • Carry out appropriate dispensing and accuracy checks before medicines are passed to the Pharmacist for final checking.
  • Deal with patient queries appropriately and refer clinical or medication-related questions to the Pharmacist.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving and putting away medicines and pharmacy stock.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify products requiring replenishment.
  • Assist with stock rotation and expiry-date management.
  • Maintain appropriate storage conditions for medicines.
  • Assist with repeat prescription requests and prescription administration.
  • Process deliveries and ensure medicines are stored correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe dispensary.
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
  • Follow all pharmacy SOPs, health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with GDPR requirements.
  • Assist with audits, quality checks and other pharmacy processes.
  • Work collaboratively with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians
  • Support continuous improvement within the pharmacy service
