MC Technical Recruitment are looking for a Plant Operator to join an energy from waste plant in the Milton Keynes area. This plant uses state of the art gasification technology processing almost 100,000 tonnes of waste per year, producing 6MW of electricity for the national grid.

As a Shift Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Safe & efficient operation of Boilers, Steam Turbines, Pumps & Heat Exchanges using the DCS via the control room.
  • Participate & liaise with the maintenance team to effectively operate the plant.
  • Basic first line to maintenance responding to plant issues.
  • Communicate well when handing over shifts, passing over documentation & dealing with maintenance requests.
  • Coach & mentor new site personnel, ensuring they comply with all health & safety regulations.

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Relevant control room experience in a plant such as Power Generation, Chemical Plant, Refinery & Water Treatment etc.
  • Royal Navy Engineering experience is also desirable with good watchkeeping experience.
  • Desirable qualifications include NVQ/HNC/Apprenticeship in a technical engineering discipline.
