The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 £ per year.

We are seeking an experienced Thermal Plant Operator to support the safe and efficient operation of the Energy from Waste (EfW) facility. The role will involve operations during steady state, start-up, shutdown, and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure day-to-day compliance with Environmental Permit requirements, escalating any non-compliance or incidents to the Shift Team Leader.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental systems and relevant legislation.
  • Participate in site HSE initiatives, including forum activities.
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Team to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Coach and mentor new personnel on EfW operations and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including shift handovers and maintenance requests.

Shift Pattern

2 Days / 3 Nights / 4 Off / 3 Days / 2 Nights / 5 Off / 2 Days / 2 Nights / 12 Off

Candidate Requirements

  • WAMITAB Level 4 Operator Competence (desirable).
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving capability.
  • Proven ability to operate Energy from Waste facilities.
  • Experience with combustion and boiler processes.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and KPI delivery.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to share technical knowledge.
