MC Technical Recruitment is currently working with a specialist engineering business to recruit a Technical Support Engineer. This role will act as the key technical interface between the company and its customers, providing high-level support on products and systems, troubleshooting issues, and advising on system improvements and upgrades.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction, and becoming a true product expert.

As the Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support to customers via phone and email, resolving product and system-related queries
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and controls-based issues
  • Acting as a product specialist, developing in-depth knowledge of systems and applications
  • Advising customers on system optimisation, upgrades, and new solutions where required
  • Supporting internal teams with technical expertise and application guidance
  • Producing clear technical documentation and support materials
  • Occasionally conducting site visits when necessary
  • Attending bespoke product training in Europe (typically once a year)

This role requires someone who can confidently communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and practical manner.

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A strong background in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Automation or a related discipline
  • HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a technical support, field service, commissioning or controls-based role
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and control system documentation
  • Practical fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Willingness to travel to Europe for product training (approximately once per year)
