MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join the operations department of an Energy from Waste Power Station in Portsmouth. The Shift Team Leader will be responsible for directing and managing the shift team effectively to ensure the site meets its operational targets in a safe and efficient manner.
As a Shift Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising a team of Shift Operators and Outside Operators ensuring efficient operation of the power station
- Operating and monitoring the plant via DCS from the control room making adjustments accordingly
- Ensuring the plant is operating in line with the site's environmental permit
- Managing the safe systems of work as a site SAP for issuing permits and HV switching duties
- Managing shift team resources to ensure effective training and development of operational staff
- Liaising with the maintenance department when required to ensure minimum downtime and maximum operational availability
- Carrying out all activities with the highest regard for health and safety
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Experience at Shift Team Leader / Shift Manager / Production Team Leader level or similar in a continuous process facility involving the generation of high pressure steam. This could be energy from waste, biomass, CCGT, refinery etc.
- Ideally experience as a Senior Authorised Person and experience with HV switching duties
- A relevant engineering qualification such as HNC/ONC/NVQ etc.
- Experience with coordinating and supervising work activities including shift staff and site contractors
- An adaptable approach to working routines and willingness to work on a shift pattern that involves 12-hour shifts
Salary & benefits:

- A salary of £59,520 inclusive of a shift allowance
