MC Technical Recruitment are partnered with a leading power generation business and are seeking an Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Technician to join their team. Working on a days basis with an on-call rota, the EC&I Technician will carry out planned and preventative maintenance across the power station.
As the EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical process plant
- PLC and controls fault diagnosis on rotating plant including fans and pumps
- Supporting during major maintenance periods such as shutdowns, outages etc.
- Responding to breakdowns to ensure continuous operations
- Maintaining accurate records using the site CMMS
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/NVQ/Apprenticeship etc.)
- Proven experience in power or related sector (Biomass / CCGT / energy from waste / Water)
- Experience troubleshooting, fault-finding and rectifying problems on DCS, SCADA and PLCs
- Electrical maintenance experience on motors, switchgear, VSDs, control panels, etc.
- Knowledge of all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and safe systems of work, RAMS, permit to work, etc.
This is a permanent position; due to the location of the plant, you will need a full UK driving licence to access the site.
