MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a National Chief Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join a leading organisation within the Energy from Waste and Resource Recovery sector.
This role will involve acting as the subject matter expert for Control & Instrumentation systems across the business, providing technical leadership, setting engineering standards and supporting site teams to maximise plant performance, reliability and safety.
- As a National Chief Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support and expertise across multiple operational Energy Recovery Facilities throughout the UK.
- Acting as the company subject matter expert for Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, Functional Safety Systems and Industrial Cyber Security.
- Developing and implementing engineering standards and best practice across all sites.
- Supporting plant reliability, performance improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working closely with the Central Engineering Team and site engineering teams to deliver technical solutions and resolve complex engineering issues.
- Supporting engineering projects, upgrades and system improvements across the business.
- Travelling nationally to provide on-site engineering support where required.
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have
- Proven experience in a senior Control & Instrumentation Engineering position within Energy from Waste, Power Generation, Process, Chemical, Utilities or a similar heavy industrial environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of DCS, PLC systems, Functional Safety and Industrial Cyber Security.
- Experience developing engineering standards and providing technical leadership across multiple sites.
- Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving and communication skills.
