MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician to carry out routine and reactive maintenance at a busy gas storage facility based in Alton, Hampshire.

As an Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Carry out planned and corrective mechanical maintenance on oil and gas production facilities
• Service and maintain pumps, valves, motors, air compressors, gas compressors and gas turbines
• Perform vendor-specified maintenance to minimise plant downtime
• Support pipeline corrosion monitoring and associated systems
• Carry out equipment isolations and ensure safe systems of work
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
• Work alongside specialist vendors and supervise contractors on site
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and high standards of housekeeping
• Participate in call-out support for plant breakdowns when required
• Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Time-served Mechanical Technician (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 minimum)
• 4–5 years\’ mechanical maintenance experience in an industrial environment
• Experience in oil & gas or similar safety-critical industry preferred
• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines and rotating equipment
• ATEX and PUWER experience desirable
