MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Plant Operator to carry out routine maintenance at a wood chip burning power plant in Milton Ernest, Bedfordshire.
As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for:
- The day-to-day operations of the plant, making regular checks of the plant and equipment.
- Making adjustments, repairs, and servicing of the equipment to aid the smooth running of the plant.
- Monitoring the plant via a SCADA system with training given, maintaining records and reports in various logs e.g. daily checks, midnight readings, and water sample testing.
- Ensuring the plant is operating within its parameters whilst complying with HSE rules.
- Maintaining site tidiness and general good housekeeping.
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Experience working in the industry such as gas or coal power plants, biomass, anaerobic digestion, or biogas would be an advantage but not necessary as all training will be given.
- Boiler licence or any other relevant power plant accreditation or knowledge.
- Previous experience is beneficial but training is an ongoing objective.
- A willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off days and nights.
Salary & Benefits:
- Starting basic salary of £30,000 which includes a shift allowance and a raising scale depending on experience and completion of probation.
- Company pension.
- 20 days holiday per year.
