MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join a leading anaerobic digestion company at their facility near Bedford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's largest independent AD operators, supporting the safe, compliant, and efficient running of a key site.
As the Senior Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Deputise for the Site Manager and support day-to-day site operations
- Lead the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system and oversee downtime planning for cost-effective overhauls
- Manage and prioritise reactive maintenance and repairs to reduce operational disruptions
- Support safety, compliance, and engineering best practice across the site
- Monitor site remotely and be part of the on-call rota for out-of-hours support
- Carry out maintenance on Electrical and Mechanical plant on a food waste Anaerobic Digestion site
- Manage a maintenance budget and cost control
- Oversee junior members of the team when required
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- A qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (or strong industry experience)
- Proven background in a process industry (e.g. AD, energy, utilities, waste, manufacturing)
- Knowledge of PLC controls or electronics is advantageous
- Experience with maintenance systems, cost control, and managing engineering budgets
- Familiarity with health and safety systems and environmental compliance is desirable
- A flexible, self-motivated, and adaptable approach with strong people and team leadership skills
- Full UK driving licence and the ability to gain a telehandler licence
