MC Technical Recruitment are partnered with a leading provider of energy from waste in Milton Keynes, seeking an Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Technician to join their team. Working on a Monday to Friday, early, day & late shift basis, the EC&I Technician will carry out planned & preventative maintenance across the entire power generation & recycling facilities.

As the EC&I Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on process plant
  • Investigating & rectifying electrical faults to minimise plant downtime
  • Supporting the operations team in daily maintenance activities
  • Responding to breakdowns to ensure continuous operations
  • Recommending plant spares & repairs to Maintenance manager
  • Assisting the maintenance manager with statutory inspections
  • Liaising with operations team regarding fault finding & modification to process equipment
  • Working on a days basis to support operations across the site
  • Any other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/NVQ/Apprenticeship etc.)
  • Proven experience in EfW or relevant sector (Biomass / CCGT / energy from waste / Water)
  • Experience troubleshooting, fault finding & rectifying problems on DCS, SCADA and PLCs
  • Electrical maintenance experience on motors, switchgear, VSDs, control panels, etc.
  • Knowledge of all Health, Safety & Environmental legislation & safe systems of work, RAMS, permit to work, etc.

This is a permanent position based in Milton Keynes; due to the on-call rota, you will need a full UK driving licence to access the site.
