MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician / EC&I Technician / E&I Technician, to carry out routine and reactive maintenance at a busy gas storage facility based in Alton, Hampshire.

As an E&I Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Maintain and fault-find on LV distribution, motors, control panels, PLCs and instrumentation
  • Inspect, maintain and replace ATEX equipment in hazardous areas
  • Record all maintenance activities using the site CMMS
  • Support plant breakdowns, including participation in call-out rota where required
  • Perform equipment isolations and ensure safe systems of work
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
  • Liaise with and supervise contractors and specialist service engineers
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety
  • Other duties as required

To be considered for this role you should have:

  • Time-served Electrical Technician (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance and PLC-controlled systems
  • Strong understanding of electrical control and process instrumentation systems
  • CompEx Ex01–Ex04 certified
  • Experience working in hazardous areas (oil & gas or similar preferred)
  • HV switching experience advantageous
