MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician / EC&I Technician / E&I Technician, to carry out routine and reactive maintenance at a busy gas storage facility based in Alton, Hampshire.
As an E&I Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Carry out planned and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Maintain and fault-find on LV distribution, motors, control panels, PLCs and instrumentation
- Inspect, maintain and replace ATEX equipment in hazardous areas
- Record all maintenance activities using the site CMMS
- Support plant breakdowns, including participation in call-out rota where required
- Perform equipment isolations and ensure safe systems of work
- Assist with installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
- Liaise with and supervise contractors and specialist service engineers
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety
- Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Time-served Electrical Technician (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance and PLC-controlled systems
- Strong understanding of electrical control and process instrumentation systems
- CompEx Ex01–Ex04 certified
- Experience working in hazardous areas (oil & gas or similar preferred)
- HV switching experience advantageous
