MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Plant Manager for an Energy from Waste Power Station based in County Durham. As the Plant Manager, you will have full responsibility for the Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), leading a committed team toward operational excellence. Your primary focus will be to embed safety, predictability, reliability, & availability into every decision & action. You'll cultivate a strong culture of ownership & accountability, championing a safety-first approach in all aspects of the operation.
As Plant Manager you will be responsible for:
- Leading the ERF site team, promoting a strong safety-first culture.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental & Quality standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
- Achieve & report on targets for plant availability, waste throughput & energy production.
- Drive a culture of performance, continuous improvement & staff development.
- Manage site financials, including P&L ownership, budgeting & cost control.
- Align operational practices with industry best standards & implement improvements.
- Maintain legal & regulatory compliance.
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Proven track record of leading large technical teams or departments at a senior management level.
- Strong financial acumen, with hands-on experience managing P&L, budgeting & financial performance.
- Demonstrated ability to implement & manage corporate management systems effectively.
- Senior leadership experience within power generation or a comparable process-driven environment.
- Extensive experience in contract management, including negotiation, execution & performance oversight.
The offer includes a performance related bonus up to 22%, a car allowance of £725 pcm, medical cover, life assurance, and a company pension.
