MC Technical Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Controls and Instrumentation Engineer for a Gas Storage Facility based in Alton. As a C&I Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Lead the maintenance and continuous improvement of process control and safety systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Act as the site's Functional Safety Lead, ensuring compliance with standards and overseeing Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
- Design, implement, and commission control and safety system upgrades as part of engineering and capital projects.
- Provide technical support to operations, including fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Manage and deliver C&I projects, including planning, budgeting, and supervision of technicians to ensure successful outcomes.
To be considered for this role you should have:
- Experience in control and instrumentation within the energy, oil & gas, or similar process industries.
- An HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, or be working towards achieving this qualification.
- A solid understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
- Experience supporting or delivering engineering projects, including system design, implementation, and commissioning.
- Experience in control system fault diagnosis and functional safety.
- Experience in plant operations, particularly in the oil and gas industry and strong knowledge of C&I design standards.
