Fluency, part of the M&C Saatchi Group, is always looking for talented people to join our team. We’re inviting applications for the role of Senior Consultant Analyst to help us build a strong pipeline of skilled professionals. In this role, you’ll work with our consulting and insights team to manage global projects, build relationships with clients, and turn data into powerful stories. If you’re passionate about data, insights, and storytelling, and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment, we’d love to hear from you.

THE ROLE: The Senior Consultant Analyst will be central to working with the wider consulting and insights team, day-to-day running of our global projects and building strong relationships with both our internal group businesses as well as our Worldwide clients. Working with our data science team and other junior analysts, you will master storytelling with data, pulling valuable insight from a diverse range of sources (search, social, news, forums, blogs, etc.), powered by sophisticated psycholinguistic and cultural semiotic AI. In addition to your core role as a data storyteller, there will be opportunity to grow your sales and marketing expertise, work closely with clientele from e-commerce to pharmaceuticals, learn more about data science and AI, and be embedded as part of a very supportive and passionate team with collaborative learning at its heart.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: You’ll be able to interpret data with ease and accuracy, uncovering the most relevant insights and storylines of relevance for a client’s business challenge and needs. You’ll work with our data team and partners to turn data into powerful stories, actionable insight & recommendations. You’re a fast learner and open to learning about new data tools and visualisation methods. You’ll develop and retain excellent relationships with our Asia Pacific clients – a trusted and accountable member of the team they can come to for help and inspiration. With the support of the wider consulting team, you will also be adept at finding new ways to help our clients, educate them about our offering, and ultimately grow the account’s value. In time you’ll lead day-to-day for select clients independently showing high levels of accuracy and acumen to develop these relationships beyond existing projects as appropriate. You’ll develop excellent client relationships and embed yourself in their businesses. You’ll contribute to Fluency’s own strategic development methodologies. You’ll help disrupt the space working with best-in-class suppliers. You’ll drive at your own knowledge base, actively deepening your skills.

ABOUT YOU: You are a storyteller at heart – comfortable with interpreting numbers and writing in a compelling way – and while data science may not be your core skillset, you believe strongly in its power to unveil truths and opportunity for businesses. You are quick to understand clients’ needs and are not afraid to ask questions to uncover more. You have strong interpersonal skills, are accountable and a team player. You can work independently, flexibly, and enjoy variety in your day-to-day role. You enjoy finding stories and truths in data. You want to help clients transform. You understand the importance of data in making informed decisions. You have a strong POV on how data can do more to help. You have an open mind to learning new techniques and approaches.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Strong background of working in a consulting, market research or insights-analysis environment; client-side or agency/consultancy. Experience in project management, client management, insight generation, report writing, and line management. Confident working with numbers and experience using some third party market research tools (e.g. Brandwatch, GWI, YouGov Profiles, Mintel, SimilarWeb). Experience in producing insight reports and presentations with a cohesive storytelling flow, backed by data. Organised self-starter – able to work independently, communicate clearly with team members across borders and be accountable for end-to-end delivery of projects. Strong academic record, though not prerequisite at degree level. Genuine passion for brands, data and insight – a love for ‘fun facts’ and general curiosity for the world.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES: Experience working as part of an international team and/or being managed remotely. Having previous client-facing experience (speaking to clients and sharing your findings is in your comfort zone). Experience with data analysis and visualisation tools e.g. Tableau, SQL, Python, R, SPSS, etc. Additional language proficiency always desirable.

WHAT YOU ARE GOOD AT: Demonstrable experience in a data consultancy or similar environment, strategic insight agency or marketing role. Experience leading business challenges, such as: segmentation, audience insight, brand positioning, innovation, go-to-market strategy. Comfortable with application of different forms of insight from qualitative techniques to more advanced analytics. Skilled in leading/managing client debriefs and workshops with confidence and energy, virtually and in-person. Proven project and time management skills. Ability to think laterally and creatively about problems. Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. A natural passion for telling stories and being led by the data. Thrives on being “all-in” as a team and being part of a collaborative environment. Strong PowerPoint skills and Microsoft Office experience.
