We are looking for an Analyst to join Human Digital; our data and insights team focused on online harms. As Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering research relating to a wide range of topics related to online harms, from online radicalisation to social cohesion. Research outputs will inform clients across government, law enforcement, and regulation. Reporting to and line-managed by the Research Manager, you will develop your OSINT research skills and subject knowledge to investigate online issues and produce data-led analytics reports.

THE ROLE: The Analyst will support the Research team in delivering monthly reports, contribute to and help maintain critical datasets, and develop quantitative and qualitative research methods on ad-hoc projects covering a range of cross-harm and convergent harm types relevant to terrorism, violent extremism, and radicalisation. You will compile evidence, provide data-led analysis, and support the Senior Analyst and Research Manager in producing clear, actionable reports. The role is ideal for an early career researcher wanting to apply and grow their knowledge on online terrorism, violent extremism, and radicalisation, develop their OSINT skills to investigate open-source spaces, work with specialists in the field to develop evidence-led threat risk reporting, and manage and collate datasets. The role will require exposure to harmful content, including terrorism and violent extremism, violence fascination, and serious organised crime.

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct OSINT investigations into online harms.
  • Contribute to and help maintain critical datasets of multi-modal content.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to produce data-led, evidenced insights.
  • Write clear, well-structured reports integrating quantitative data into analysis.
  • Pull out the key findings most relevant to our clients and the research briefs.

What you’ll bring:

  • Relevant academic degree on topics relevant to online harms.
  • Relevant academic degree or training course on OSINT research.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK legislation relevant to online harms (incl. the Online Safety Act and Terrorism Act).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of terrorism, violent extremism, and non-ideological violence.

WHAT YOU GET A competitive salary and benefits package that includes 27 days holiday per year, pension contributions, private healthcare, discounted dental insurance, enhanced maternity/parental leave, plus a whole host of others including:

  • Cultural stimulation allowance - £250 per person per year.
  • Half days off before bank holidays.
  • Emergency care days for dependants.
  • Up to 5 days volunteering leave per year to work for a registered charity.
  • Up to 10 days special emergency leave per year.
  • Season Ticket loan.
  • Payroll Giving Scheme.
  • Thursday drinks to unwind and socialize.
  • An annual Summer and Christmas party.

Our commitment to Diversity and Inclusion sees us offer inclusive bank holidays. We also offer learning opportunities around D&I, targeted mentoring programmes and the opportunity to participate in several active Employee Led Networks and associated events. Finally, this role will be supported with all the necessary personal development required to set someone up for success.
