We are looking for a Research Manager to join Human Digital; our data and insights team focused on online harms. As a Research Manager, you will play a key role in designing, delivering, writing, and communicating research across a wide range of online harms topics to government, law enforcement, and regulatory clients. Reporting to and line‑managed by the Associate Research Director, you will both conduct and oversee OSINT investigations and use your excellent organisational skills and varied subject knowledge to help the team analyse complex qualitative and quantitative data and produce clear, actionable reports.

The Role

As a Research Manager you will oversee monthly and ad‑hoc research projects from design through to reporting, including working with the research and engineering teams to develop robust methodological approaches and create detailed project management plans. You will contribute to the ongoing work we provide our operational, policy and communication clients to deliver research that has meaningful impact on combatting online threats. The role is ideal for someone with excellent organisational skills, experience working on both qualitative and quantitative research approaches, and a wide interest in the various threat types that sit within online harms in a UK and EU context. The role will require exposure to harmful content, including terrorism and violent extremism, non‑ideological violence, and serious organised crime.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to client briefs and work with the senior leadership team to design proposals.
  • Manage a small, agile team of analysts and coordinate input from our global network of subject specialist consultants.
  • Project manage our steady‑state monthly outputs and ad‑hoc research projects.
  • Review all written products prior to senior leadership sign‑off.
  • Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to produce data‑led, evidenced insights.
  • Conduct OSINT investigations and provide cover for the OSINT analyst team monthly tasks when necessary.
  • Write clear, well‑structured reports integrating quantitative data into analysis.
  • Pull out the key findings most relevant to our clients and the research briefs.
  • Work with the Associate Research Director and Business team to present research directly to clients (virtual and in‑person).

What You'll Bring

  • Project management experience including design and delivery.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with OSINT analysis.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK legislation relevant to online harms (incl. the Online Safety Act and Terrorism Act).
  • Demonstrable knowledge of terrorism, violent extremism, and non‑ideological violence.

What You Get

A competitive salary and benefits package that includes 27 days holiday per year, pension contributions, private healthcare, discounted dental insurance, enhanced maternity/parental leave, and a whole host of other perks. Cultural stimulation allowance – £250 per person per year.
