We are looking for a bid writer to join our team at Manchester & Cheshire Construction!
Location: Salford, M5 4WB
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Main Duties
- Write high-quality winning bid documents for both projects and frameworks, including producing, coordinating and editing written content in line with deadlines.
- Attend and carry out framework presentations.
- Complete all PQQ and Contractor Questionnaires.
- Contribute to the estimating team at key stages of individual tender projects, gathering technical information from internal departments to compile and ensure a high-quality bid is presented to the client.
- Complete the quality sections of the ITTs and liaise with all relevant parties.
- Submit completed tender documents.
- Produce promotional/marketing materials and award submissions.
- Keep the Bid library archive updated.
- Keep the Bid information sections updated (i.e. internal company policies).
- Providing insurance renewal information to clients on request.
- Attaining and retaining accreditations such as Constructionline/CHAS/SafeContractor.
- Sending out quarterly email shots to clients and contacts on Insightly.
- Managing our Constructionline profile including providing information and regular project references.
- Support the business development and marketing functions by carrying out other duties that are consistent with your knowledge and skills and are necessary for the satisfactory completion of contracts, or for attainment of business goals.
- Ensuring all documentation and communication the company produces are of a high standard and present the company in a good light.
About You
- Good knowledge of Adobe Indesign desirable.
- Industry specific knowledge of Bid Writing within the Construction market is preferable.
- Ability to work as part of a team and own initiative when required.
- Proven track record in the sector or similar role, preferably with a main contractor.
- Excellent written English and communication skills.
- Flexibility to meet time pressures to deliver high quality submissions on time.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Exceptional writing, editing and copy-writing skills.
Quality
This individual will work alongside the rest of the team to ensure that work is carried out in line with current ISO accreditations. They will also lead and support the team in order to implement additional ISO accreditations. This will involve the writing of policies and procedures in line with the quality standard requirements. There will be a need to communicate with external accreditation bodies as required.
Communication
The role will require the post holder to communicate verbally in a professional manner with a wide range of personnel both internally and with external clients. The post holder will use their initiative to solve problems and answer queries from both internal and external sources and will communicate with clients and the team in a positive and respectful manner. The post holder will be required to undertake other duties as requested within the scope of their ability and role.
