With an order book exceeding £4bn and a reputation for delivering some of the country's most significant infrastructure projects, this blue-chip contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a flagship £300m+ highways scheme in Chelmsford. The project involves a major road widening programme, the construction of new junctions and extensive active travel infrastructure designed to improve connectivity and support future growth within the region.
This is a rare opportunity to become a key member of the commercial team from an early stage of a high-profile project with a guaranteed four-year programme ahead. Working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners, you will take responsibility for subcontract management, change control, cost reporting, valuations, forecasting and maintaining strong commercial governance throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working on highways or major civil engineering projects under the NEC form of contract and be confident managing both subcontractors and client relationships. Strong communication skills, commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem solving will be essential.
