Are you looking for a role where you can genuinely lead from the front whilst delivering a project that will leave a lasting legacy for the local community? One of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a £20m public realm and active travel scheme in Selby. The project, which has a programme of approximately three years, will transform key areas of the town through improved pedestrian and cycle routes, public spaces and associated infrastructure works.

Reporting into the Commercial Manager, you will lead the commercial function on the project, managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff whilst overseeing all aspects of commercial delivery. Responsibilities will include:

  • Subcontract procurement and management
  • Cost reporting
  • Forecasting
  • Change management
  • Client liaison
  • Ensuring the project achieves its commercial objectives throughout the lifecycle of the works

This role would suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in highways, public realm or civil engineering projects and a strong understanding of NEC contracts. Previous experience of mentoring or managing junior commercial staff would be highly advantageous, alongside the ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, stakeholders and operational teams.
