The Textile Repairs Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all textile and soft goods within MBSE's rental stock. This includes carrying out all necessary repairs, alterations, and additions using the appropriate machinery and equipment in a safe and effective manner. This role requires assessing and prioritising incoming repair requests, ensuring that the most urgent items are completed first. The technician will use the RT Pro stock control system to return items from repair with accurate resolution notes and will support the Repairs Administrator by providing timely and precise pricing for billable repairs. They will also assist in training temporary textile repair technicians, collaborate with the Repairs Administrator on retiring stock that is beyond economical repair, and proactively identify when repair fabric levels are running low to prevent shortages. Additionally, the technician must keep the repairs area consistently clean and organised and work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure all operations are fully risk assessed and compliant with established control measures.

We are seeking a candidate who is trained and experienced in the use of industry-level sewing machinery and who can confidently learn and navigate the MBS stock control system (Rental Tracker Pro). The ideal applicant will be able to build strong working relationships with colleagues, work effectively under pressure, and adapt to changing deadlines. They must be self-motivated, well organised, and capable of planning their workload while managing multiple ongoing tasks. Flexibility is essential, as the role requires availability to work evenings and weekends when needed. While previous experience in the lighting industry is desirable, it is not essential; however, an interest in lighting for film, television, or live events would be beneficial.

This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour working week, between the hours of 8:30am to 5:30pm. We offer a competitive salary with the opportunity to earn overtime. Our comprehensive benefits package includes 25 days holiday, plus.
