MBR partners are currently working with an analytics and performance company focused on the Unified Comms vertical. The clients provide optimisation solutions for outstanding customer experience, productivity and communication performance. The company is now in scale up and we are hiring for a Head of Engineering to manage, drive and expand the product evolution.
The Senior Engineering Leader will provide strategic oversight of the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) while maintaining hands-on ownership of all engineering activities. This role will define and evolve the technical direction within the R&D organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all engineering functions and the full SDLC.
- Define, implement, and continuously refine the technical strategy for the R&D organization.
- Lead and develop multiple autonomous development squads, fostering a high-performance, product-led culture.
- Embed a partner-first mindset and ensure engineering efforts deliver measurable commercial and customer value.
- Drive execution excellence and introduce modern engineering practices and tools to improve efficiency and quality.
- Oversee the management of both legacy platforms and SaaS portfolios, ensuring scalability, performance, and market relevance.
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and a culture of clarity, accountability, and collaboration.
- Serve as a technical thought leader, guiding teams through complex challenges in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
- A technically adept innovator with a proven track record of leading engineering teams in high-growth or complex environments.
- Demonstrated experience driving organisational performance through strategic clarity, cultural transformation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of scalable software architectures, modern development practices, and R&D leadership.
- Experience: 7+ years in SaaS Engineering Management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role or head-of-function role.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes.
- Commercial mindset: Skilled at linking technical outcomes to customer success, adoption, and recurring revenue growth.
- Strategic communicator: Excellent at storytelling, influencing, and creating clarity across executive, commercial, and technical teams.
- Execution focus: Able to balance strategic direction with hands-on technology ownership.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Teams ecosystem, including Teams Phone, Direct Routing, Operator Connect, and associated analytics and integration capabilities.
- Partner with the Head of Product and Product Owners to ensure timely, high-quality product releases.
- Deliver technical leadership to constantly improve our tech stack of: Python, Java, C#, TypeScript.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Phone, call recording, analytics, or BI integrations.
- Background in partner-led SaaS go-to-market models.
- Familiarity with AI, API-driven integration, or data enrichment solutions.
