MBN Solutions are partnering with a start-up AI platform that specialises in Synthetic Human behaviour. We are hiring a Founding AI Engineer to help build AI systems that let companies test decisions before they happen. We're building a decision platform that helps businesses understand how customers, markets, and competitors may respond before a pricing change, product launch, or growth initiative goes live. Today, many critical business decisions are still tested directly in the real world. We believe there should be a safer environment to explore those decisions first.

As a Founding AI Engineer, you'll work on the intelligence layer behind that vision:

  • Build production-grade LLM and agentic workflows
  • Design evaluation, tracing, replay, and quality-control systems
  • Turn messy business data into reliable reasoning contexts
  • Improve AI reliability through structured outputs, retrieval, calibration, and testing
  • Develop systems that expose assumptions, uncertainty, and evidence
  • Help define what trustworthy AI predictions look like

We're looking for someone with:

  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Strong Python and production systems expertise
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, RAG, or AI workflow systems
  • Experience building evaluation frameworks, tests, or quality gates for AI systems
  • Strong product instincts and comfort working in ambiguity

This isn't a prompt-engineering role, and it isn't pure research. You'll be building real systems that help customers make better decisions and continuously improve by learning from real-world outcomes. If you're excited by AI systems that are auditable, measurable, and tested against reality, we'd love to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at MBN Solutions

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If MBN Solutions uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
