Founding CTO – Startup Agentic AI - £200k + equity – Remote (UK/EU)
Built or helped build an AI startup from scratch (or early-stage AI product)? Hands-on with BERT-era AI models (pre-LLM boom), with real-world deployment experience? Led small technical teams and collaborated directly with product, clients, or stakeholders? If yes to all three, we should talk.
The challenge: Spinning out from an AI incubator, we’ve just launched our platform for AI agents. Giving developers a way to build adaptive agents that can dynamically discover, compose, and execute actions without needing to hardwire every step, turning agent-to-agent interactions into a scalable, flexible system. Think of it as the action layer powering the emerging agent economy.

We’ve got our CEO on board and the next step is to bring on board a CTO to lead the technical efforts. We’re looking to speak with:
- CTOs
- Founders
- Lead/Principal AI Engineers
Hungry, entrepreneurial profiles who’ve either launched their own AI startup or built early-stage AI products from scratch.
About you: You’ll draw on your experience in AI/ML Engineering to drive the design of the platform and tailor it to be most efficient for AI Agents, and have the following:
- Experience working in an AI startup, ideally from the start
- Hands-on AI development - deep experience with BERT and other pre-LLM models (not just prompting GPT-4).
- Leadership - you’ve run small technical teams, worked directly with product, clients, and stakeholders.
- Action bias - you ship, you solve, you build.
- A solid background in AI (Engineering rather than Research)
- Possess a deep understanding of reinforcement learning, distributed training and Agentic AI
Not for you if:
- You’re more strategist than builder.
- Your AI experience is just post-ChatGPT.
- You’re mainly delivering analytics or dashboards dressed up as AI.
