What You’ll Do As a CDL‑A Delivery Driver
- Inspect tractor‑trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
- Hook the assigned tractor to a loaded trailer at the Sidney, OH warehouse and deliver to an affiliated warehouse for loading and sorting of pre‑palletized product.
- Average of two routes a week, each route about 28 hours; roughly 50% of time spent in the berth.
- No ramp unloading work.
- All equipment provided; tractors well‑maintained and less than three years old.
- Inspect bill of lading and store key for accuracy during off‑hour delivery.
- Drive tractor‑trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering the vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
- Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) per DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures, and exceptions.
- Unload trailer and deliver product into customer premises.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL‑A Teammate
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL‑A).
- At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor‑trailer driving experience.
- Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient for job‑related tasks, safety protocols, and communication.
