What You’ll Do As a CDL‑A Delivery Driver

  • Inspect tractor‑trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
  • Hook the assigned tractor to a loaded trailer at the Sidney, OH warehouse and deliver to an affiliated warehouse for loading and sorting of pre‑palletized product.
  • Average of two routes a week, each route about 28 hours; roughly 50% of time spent in the berth.
  • No ramp unloading work.
  • All equipment provided; tractors well‑maintained and less than three years old.
  • Inspect bill of lading and store key for accuracy during off‑hour delivery.
  • Drive tractor‑trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering the vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
  • Maintain driver log (Manual or Peoplenet) per DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures, and exceptions.
  • Unload trailer and deliver product into customer premises.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You’ll Bring As a CDL‑A Teammate

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL‑A).
  • At least 1 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor‑trailer driving experience.
  • Must meet McLane’s MVR and risk rating qualifications.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient for job‑related tasks, safety protocols, and communication.
