Assess the need for social work services, including identifying risks and protection needs, and determine appropriate interventions.

Decide or advise on the use of Children’s Social Care Services and other resources.

Liaise and negotiate with professionals, statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure the best service for children and families.

Manage workload within priorities and authority policies.

Comply with statutory obligations and maintain proper records of work and administrative procedures.

Prepare for supervision and staff meetings, and utilize training and development opportunities.

Contribute to service evaluation and development by sharing knowledge and best practices with colleagues and professional groups.

Supervise, assess, and contribute to the development of students and staff.
