An established, highly regarded independent financial planning firm is looking to appoint a Trainee Financial Planner to work closely alongside a Senior Financial Planner / Director as part of a structured succession and development plan. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Level 4 qualified Paraplanner or Trainee IFA who is ready to take the next step into a fully client-facing advisory role, with exceptional mentoring, training and long-term career progression.
The opportunity
This role has been designed for someone who wants to become a fully authorised Independent Financial Adviser in the near future, rather than remaining in a technical or support-based position. You will shadow and work directly with a highly experienced Senior Financial Planner/Director, receiving hands-on exposure to client meetings, advice construction and relationship management. Full ongoing training, guidance, and structured development will be provided throughout. Once signed off as competent, you will be transitioned onto a full client book, enabling you to build your own long-term advisory career within the firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadowing and supporting a Senior Financial Planner/Director in client meetings
- Gradually taking responsibility for client interactions and advice delivery
- Undertaking a structured training and development programme with a clear pathway to becoming a full IFA
- Assisting with suitability reports, recommendations, and ongoing client servicing
- Managing and developing client relationships over time
- Conducting the majority of client meetings via video, with some office-based and occasional face-to-face meetings
Upon successful completion of training and sign-off, you will be provided with a ready-made client bank. Typical client investable assets range from £150,000 – £250,000+. You will have full autonomy to manage, grow, and develop your client portfolio.
