Nelson, Lancashire | Office Based | £28,000

Have you been looking for a way into Financial Planning but aren't sure where to start? A well-established Financial Planning firm is looking to recruit a Trainee Paraplanner to join its technical team. If you've never come across the role before, a Paraplanner works alongside Financial Advisers, carrying out research, analysing information, preparing recommendations and helping deliver high-quality financial advice to clients. This is not a Trainee Financial Adviser position. The company is looking to develop someone into a professional Paraplanner who will become an integral part of the business over the long term. The role would suit someone who enjoys analytical work, has excellent attention to detail and is looking for a genuine long-term career rather than simply another job.

The Role

  • Working alongside experienced Financial Planners, you'll gradually become involved in:
  • Uploading client information onto the CRM system
  • Preparing application and transfer paperwork
  • Supporting Financial Advisers
  • Carrying out financial planning and investment research
  • Gathering client information
  • Writing suitability reports
  • Producing client review reports
  • Using cashflow planning software
  • Liaising with clients and providers
  • Contributing ideas to improve business processes

Who They're Looking For

The company is interested in finding the right person, rather than someone who already has years of experience. Applications are welcomed from:

  • Graduates with an interest in finance or financial services
  • Candidates with some Financial Services or Financial Planning experience
  • Bright, enthusiastic individuals looking to build a career within Financial Planning
  • People who enjoy research, analysis and problem solving

Strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and a willingness to learn are far more important than previous paraplanning experience.

Benefits

  • Company pension
  • Financial and academic support towards professional qualifications
  • Study leave for professional exams
  • Financial assistance for training and qualifications
  • On-site parking
  • Some flexibility around working arrangements and working hours

Please Note - This is an office-based role in Nelson, Lancashire. As this is a long-term development opportunity, the company is only looking to interview candidates who already live within commuting distance or have genuine long-term ties to the local area. They are investing in someone they hope will build their career with the business for many years to come.
