A highly successful boutique Independent Financial Planning practice based in the centre of Cardiff are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Paraplanner. The focus of this position is to provide 1-2-1 technical support to the Managing Director and their growing book of clients. This is much more than a report-writing role. You’ll be involved from the very start - attending meetings, building cashflow models, supporting complex cases and helping shape how advice is delivered. You’ll be a key part of a small, collaborative team that values clarity, integrity and client relationships above all else.
Responsibilities:
- Working one-to-one with the Managing Director to support client meetings, follow-ups, and advice preparation.
- Building and maintaining detailed client fact-finds and cashflow models.
- Helping ensure advice is technically sound, compliant, and delivered smoothly.
- Taking ownership of case progression — keeping things moving and staying on top of key milestones.
- Playing a role in shaping internal processes, due diligence reviews, and occasionally helping with wider projects around compliance and systems.
About You:
- Strong experience in a paraplanning role.
- Level 4 qualified (Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning) is preferred, but highly experienced professionals working towards this will also be considered.
- Excellent understanding of the full financial advice process and associated compliance.
- Skilled in cashflow modelling tools (e.g., Cashcalc).
- Proactive, well-organised, and able to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.
- Comfortable working closely with both advisers and clients in a collaborative, boutique setting.
