An established and highly respected wealth management business is seeking an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing Financial Planning team in Edinburgh. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, technically strong environment supporting a team of 11 Financial Planners at varying stages of their careers, working alongside an experienced Senior Paraplanner (Lead), four additional Paraplanners and dedicated administrative support.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, client-focused financial planning support, working closely with advisers to produce technically robust advice and help clients achieve their long-term objectives.
The OpportunityYou will be responsible for preparing and writing high-quality suitability reports, carrying out technical research, supporting annual reviews and contributing to the delivery of an exceptional client experience.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare high-quality, compliant and client-focused suitability reports and advice documentation
- Produce cashflow modelling and financial planning analysis to support long-term client objectives
- Conduct technical research across pensions, investments, tax planning and estate planning matters
- Support Financial Planners with annual reviews and ongoing client servicing requirements
- Attend client meetings where required, prepare meeting notes and assist with follow-up actions
- Work closely with advisers and internal stakeholders to support delivery and commercial objectives
- Manage your own workflow effectively, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, templates and best practice within the team
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of legislation, regulation and market developments
You will be an experienced Paraplanner with strong technical capability and a proactive, collaborative approach.
Requirements:- Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning (essential)
- Progress towards Chartered status would be highly advantageous, particularly for candidates seeking remuneration at the upper end of the salary range
- Minimum 3+ years' paraplanning experience within a financial planning or wealth management environment
- Strong technical knowledge across: Pensions, Estate planning, Investments, UK tax planning including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax
- Experience using established tools, templates and centralised advice frameworks
- Ability to manage your own workload and maintain consistently high standards of output
