Financial Planner – Edinburgh / Scotland (Chartered Preferred)

Location: Edinburgh / Central Belt – flexible home/field working with office presence

A leading national wealth management firm is seeking an experienced Financial Planner to take ownership of an established client book and drive new business growth in Scotland. This is a unique opportunity to be the firm’s only Financial Planner in Scotland, managing a portfolio of around 100 high-net-worth families generating c. £400K in recurring income.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality financial planning advice and ongoing client reviews.
  • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities through networking, internal education, and professional relationships.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, consultants, and insurance professionals to generate leads from PMI schemes, Marsh Insurance, and other intermediaries.
  • Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal standards.
  • Travel locally to meet clients and attend the Edinburgh office for networking and business development.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experienced Financial Planner with a proven track record in servicing clients and generating new business.
  • Chartered Financial Planner preferred; Pension Transfer Specialist (PTS) advantageous.
  • Strong gravitas, interpersonal skills, and professionalism to engage clients and intermediaries.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently with remote support staff.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Bonus & OTE: £100K–£110K+ with 3.5x salary validation; additional upside for strong new business performance
  • Generous pension contributions, private health insurance, death in service, and comprehensive benefits
  • Full paraplanning and administrative support provided remotely
  • Flexible working policy, with emphasis on client meetings and office presence
