This position will be responsible for providing the Manufacturing Engineering focus within the Industrial Transfer Team representing the department at various forums to engage with key stakeholders and promote the department. Salary: Circa 47,000 depending on experienceDynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site due to workload classificationSecurity Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenshipRestrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.

As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity: An exciting new opportunity has become available within the Industrial Transfer Team for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join the team.

The opportunity also allows an individual to grow their knowledge within manufacturing as part of development into potential future opportunities. This role will give an individual into the front end aspects of the business from initial bids through to delivery and also be both internally and externally focussed.

The tasks will be both tactical and strategic providing stretched objectives for personal growth and appreciation of the wider business.

Extensive knowledge of Manufacturing EngineeringSupport to the bid generation for Manufacturing Industrial Transfer campaigns.

Working alongside the Industrial Transfer PM to generate a robust Bids for ManufacturingIdentification of supporting function requirements to ensure a successful Industrial Transfer programmeDelivery of Industrial Manufacturing Transfer Programmes i.a.w.

business and customer expectationsInterface between the external stakeholders and the Manufacturing organisation to ensure a smooth and efficient transfer programme is achievedDefining the Manufacturing Industrial Transfer operating principles and proceduresAbility to write reports and technical assessments of current and future proposalsAs this role will be Live Build focused the individual will also be required to maintain a level of competence and knowledge base of Live Build Support To Operations.

This involves but not limited toSupporting development/production manufacturing lines, translating design requirements into user instructions including the development of the project manufacturing architecture.

Industrial Validation, manufacturing architecture and factory of the future principles.

Responsible for manufacturing problem identification and resolution: Support existing manufacturing lines and new product introductionSupport the industrial validation process through the use of FMEA's, process proving activities etc. Management of configuration control by the embodiment of design modifications into the manufacturing documentation and industrial validationSupport the non-conformance processEnsure products are produced with consideration to safety, efficiency and economic factorsAssume the responsibilities for safe operating implementation for changed processes, including liaising with COSHH assessors, SHE and Human FactorsLiaise with the design authority during the product prototype/development phase, to ensure optimised Design for Manufacture (DfM)Compilation and update of Manufacturing Instructions maintaining production BOMsTooling development and controlWhat we're looking for from you: Formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21ANDFormal further education certificate to HNC or equivalent in a relevant subjectORDegree in relevant Engineering subjectMust demonstrate a proactive approach to problem solving and commitment to work to meet our delivery milestones.

Have the ability to interpret Design Drawings with a view to producing Manufacturing Build Instructions.

Must be able to work within and contribute to a team environment. Awareness of digital communication platforms to work and communicate effectively within the workplace.
