Information Management (IM) Academy - Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship

The Opportunity
New for 2024. Start your career in the digital world by supporting, maintaining and protecting the digital technology and solutions of the MBDA ecosystem. We are redefining the way our products and services are delivered to our customers, and we need you to help us.
Our solutions are developed and deployed in accordance with the international group business needs, our product partnership initiatives and the national security standards. We need individuals who want to develop their operational support skills across the whole digital information systems and information technology enterprise.
This four-year apprenticeship programme is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a growing digital systems team and gain hands-on experience within the Information Technology and Information Systems sector with a major defence contractor. The IM Academy will give you experience of operational and service delivery across information technology infrastructure including networks and enterprise applications.
Our operational teams cover everything from user engagement through to cyber security threat detection and prevention. We use ITIL standards for our operational management and align with standards such as the UK government Cyber Security Essentials Plus scheme, and you will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of these and begin to apply them in the workplace. In this area you would be involved in operations and service delivery for the enterprise server infrastructure and desktop ecosystem including performance monitoring and capacity management.
Programme Structure
You will initially study on a 16-month programme, split by 13 months practical and 3 months End Point Assessment (EPA), studying a Digital Support Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship with FIREBRAND (part of the BPP Education Group). You will learn with our supplier who are leaders in this sector who offer a blended online and residential learning programme alongside on-the-job learning. There will be the opportunity for follow-on study at Level 3 or Level 4 for a specialist route or to complete the rest of the apprenticeship with on-the-job learning.
The IM Academy approach will offer you experience of Digital Infrastructure; Digital solutions and Operations Management across the directorate before confirming the role you will take when you complete the scheme.
