As MBDA moves into an incredibly exciting and demanding time for In Service Support, an opportunity has arisen which requires someone to lead and manage a team of dynamic and customer focused supply officers, who manage all of the Spare’s requirements of our global Customer base. Supply activities span all of our “in-service” products, which involves the provisioning and supply of Spares and consumables.
Salary: Circa ÂŁ50,000
Hybrid working pattern: Where possible, we will seek to accommodate a blended approach to on-site and remote working. 2-3 days a week in the office.
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
You will be working collaboratively with many other functions involved in the process such as Project Teams, Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, Commercial, Finance and Procurement. There will also be frequent opportunities to work with our international colleagues on some of our multinational projects, while also working to implement functional improvement programmes. As the business and our customers move toward a data-driven business you will be using SAP, Power Bi and key tools to aid and assist you in decision making and driving the business forward.
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing a team of dedicated and experienced Supply officers including their contribution to business deliverables, workload, well-being and learning and development.
- Helping to resolve daily problems and queries that arise, liaising and negotiating with internal project teams, our customers and external suppliers.
- Supporting new business bids and forecasting costs for spares activity.
- Generating Customer reports and internal metrics using our current business systems (SAP and other reporting solutions).
- Typical duties include attending project meetings, generating estimates, attending risk reviews, cost at completion meetings, and participating in functional improvement workshops.
- Supply Chain Management – Maintain / Improve supplier performance, identify and implement cost reductions and service improvement initiatives. Ensure quality levels are maintained at the appropriate level.
- Working closely with equivalent Supply team leadership in other MBDA countries to ensure that all requirements are understood and captured for the migration to the next iteration of the business tool (SAP4 Hana).
- Supporting the wider business through sharing knowledge in key subjects such as ReACH, ITAR, INCOTERMS and procurement terms and conditions.
- Working collaboratively with our international colleagues, supporting “Community Of Interests”.
Who and what we are looking for from you:
- Able to analyse problems, consider possible solutions and use your experience and influencing skills to deliver a satisfactory solution.
- Qualified to at least HNC/HND level in a relevant subject such as Supply chain or Business studies or have relevant experience of leadership within a similar function.
- It would be preferable if you had some experience in people managing a small team.
- Knowledge of Logistics, Military Supply Chains, Purchasing & Supply Management, CIPS qualified would be of some benefit, but not essential.
- It would be beneficial if you had previous knowledge of business systems such as SAP.
- A level of awareness and understanding of export licensing, compliance and controls including ITAR and EAR.
