Join a leading defence manufacturing team as a Live Build Manufacturing Technician supporting the production, repair and certification of complex engineering products.

Working within a live build environment, you will use a range of tools, gauges and measuring equipment to manufacture, inspect and test products to defined standards and specifications.

This role offers the opportunity to work on important defence programmes, ensuring quality, safety and performance requirements are met while contributing to project objectives, delivery schedules and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Certify products in line with the product certification procedure and maintain approval through regular audits.
  • Carry out manufacturing, inspection and, where applicable, testing activities to required standards and timescales.
  • Complete and maintain all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack.
  • Use a range of equipment, tools, gauges and measuring instruments throughout the manufacturing cycle.
  • Support the production, repair and modification of products to meet defined build standards and specifications.
  • Maintain the highest standards of workmanship, product quality and compliance with manufacturing procedures.
  • Follow engineering instructions, layouts, schedules, test specifications and associated documentation.
  • Contribute across a variety of tasks, applying a broad and versatile engineering skill set.
  • Promote safe working practices, good housekeeping and a positive team environment.
  • Share best practice with colleagues and support continuous improvement activities.

What do you need?

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Advanced Level or L3 Standard or
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 academic qualification (ONC, diploma, etc.) and
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Level 3 vocational qualification (NVQ) *Not required if a L3 apprenticeship standard has been achieved
  • (These qualifications must meet the standard to be considered for the role).
  • ESD training.
  • Experience in Manufacturing / Craftsman position.
  • Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply.

As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
