Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support their esteemed Defence client at the Stevenage site. The technician will ensure product certification, utilise appropriate equipment, tools, gauges, callipers, and measuring instruments, and produce, repair, and modify company products according to build standards and specifications.
As a Live Build Manufacturing Technician, you will be responsible for manufacturing, testing, and inspecting products in line with certification procedures, project objectives, budgets, and timelines. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-profile defence projects and grow within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Certify products in accordance with the product certification procedure and maintain approval through regular audits.
- Apply a versatile skill set across manufacturing tasks using appropriate tools, gauges, and measuring instruments.
- Ensure build, inspection, and test times are met to support production schedules.
- Complete and verify all documentation within the manufacturing data pack.
- Uphold high standards of workmanship and product quality throughout the manufacturing cycle.
- Follow all procedures and compliance requirements related to manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to good housekeeping practices.
- Communicate best practices and support continuous improvement within the team.
- Interpret engineering instructions from layouts, schedules, and test specifications, including limited documentation sets.
- Support product repair and modification activities to meet defined build standards and specifications.
- Approved Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Framework/Modern Apprenticeship OR Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 OR Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 OR Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC.
- Experience in a Manufacturing / Craftsman position.
- ESD training.
- Live Build training (will be provided).
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by our clients Security Team.
