Bristol MBDA Network Communications Department is looking for engineers to provide Systems Engineering and Network Communications expertise into the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) project!

Salary: Up to £52,500 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

As a System Engineer in Network Communications, you will contribute to a significant defence programme, to design and deliver the RAF's next combat aircraft, working with our international partners - Italy and Japan. This is an opportunity for you to influence the communications system design through a new approach to weapon integration and use.

You will gain technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Network Enabled Weapons
  • Platform Communications
  • 6th Generation Aircraft Capabilities
  • Missile-to-Missile Communications

Some Key Accountabilities are:

  • To bring a technical perspective to System of Systems concepting activities
  • To manage elicitation and decomposition of requirements
  • To conduct technical studies to inform architecture development and requirements definition
  • To provide technical support to cross-functional assessment and analysis activities
  • To work with design teams to define and convey the following aspects of the system, in order to optimise capability: system concepts, trades, design principles, and constraints
